Synopsis
In many regions of Europe they had become extinct. But they have returned. Their most powerful weapons are intelligence and adaptability. This film depicts the impressive comeback of the wild boar.
Their return has imposed changes upon their original habitat, the forest, and consequently the lives of other forest dwellers have also been altered. We record this process in the extreme east of Poland, the last lowland primeval forest of Europe, and in southern France, where the wild boar are faced with another enemy: wolves.
For a year the camera accompanies a sow with her piglets in the Leitha Mountains, a forest region of Central Europe, providing a fascinating and surprising insight into the life of the wild boar.
